I can not get the lever to release the pin per instructions, rear wheels slightly elevated with boom.I have tried lubricating upper catches but release arm will bend without pin even budgeing. Am I missing something It's a 2000 and probably has never been removed.

Parallel to the lever handle and just behind it are two 5/16 bolts with locknuts and a spring connecting them. They bolt into the receiving block for the head of the pin. My service manual does not mention these. Am I overlooking their function? Which is what? ....

The problem was the rusted up pivot points on the release lever. Applied plenty of heat and finally got them to move. I am probably going to put grease fittings on to alleviate this problem ever happening again! ....
